Boost your career at a top university for employability

Students in the UCD campus

University College Dublin (UCD) achieves a top 100 position for employability in the recently released QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2018.

At 75th in the world, and number one in Ireland, UCD demonstrates its commitment to supporting graduates and their future careers. Factors such as graduate employment rates and alumni success were considered alongside employers' reputation and on-campus presence. Data analysed included 200,000 work placement partnerships and 30,000 employer responses.

Strong reputation

This latest accolade adds to UCD’s impressive reputation for employability. The University's inspiring faculty and nurturing environment are among the qualities that make it an ideal choice if you’re focused on your future career. Known for its strong partnerships with employers, statistics show that 87% of UCD graduates are employed or in further education within nine months.

Global reach

UCD’s Career Development Centre is on campus to help you prepare for the world of work and connect with a range of leading industries. Many degrees include work placements, and past students have gained experience with global companies such as KPMG, L’Oréal and IBM.

Entrepreneurs and academics

If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, you can expect outstanding support and opportunities. UCD is home to the biggest start-up incubator in Ireland, and Dublin was named by Forbes as one of the best cities in the world for start-ups. Academics are also in the right place. Ireland’s leader in postgraduate education, around half of UCD undergraduates progress to graduate-level studies.

Post-study work visas

International students at UCD have the opportunity to stay and start their careers in Ireland after graduation. Ireland is the only English-speaking country in Europe that offers post-study work visas. This means that non-EU/EEA citizens can stay and work in Ireland for up to 12 months. Added to this, as an international student you are able to work in Ireland while you study. This gives you the chance to gain valuable experience to enrich your CV and help you secure your first full-time job.

Land of opportunity

Ireland is a great place to launch a career. It has one of the fastest moving job markets in Europe (Robert Walters European Job Index 2015), and was ranked fourth in Forbes’ 2017 list of the world’s Best Countries for Business.

Within Ireland, Dublin is an outstanding location for students and graduates. A hub of innovation and inspiration, this UNESCO City of Literature boasts incredible history as well as multinational businesses such as Facebook, Google, Amazon and Twitter.
